What began with a few mixtapes and CDs of drum n bass quickly turned into an obsession with Washington DC's John Marzetti, aka Kapsil. In his words, "[Drum and Bass is] about 90% of what I listen to, and I always end up spending all my money on records." This obsession, coupled with his skills on the decks, has given birth to a forward-thinking producer with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. "It was hard to find records that were exactly the style I wanted to spin," he says, "a lot of the tracks that come out are very formulaic and have nothing to differentiate themselves from the 100s of other records released each month." Complex Logic Recordings found Kapsil on the highly acclaimed DNBSCENE.com, an online forum for drum n bass producers, where his track, Beatbox, reached #3 on the charts. Intrigued by his unique style and impressed with the response to his music, we signed him immediately. Kapsil is one of the freshest producers in the United States right now: continually reshaping the definition of drum n bass.
